How to Replace Seal in a Centrifugal Pump?

Power Off
If your pump is running, turn off the electrical power. Make sure that the machine will not start when you start working.
Cut the plumbing.
Disconnect from the plumbing pipes connected to the centrifugal pump. Once disconnected, you can place the pump on the table or floor wherever you are comfortable.
Disassemble the Pump
Using a wrench, unscrew the bolts holding the pump casing in place. Be careful not to lose these bolts. You will need them later to reorganize the installation.
Remove Centrifugal Pump Impeller
The packing is located on the shaft behind the impeller. To remove the shaft, first hold the shaft in place using a wrench. Then unscrew the screw by turning the propeller.
Remove the Gasket.
One part of the gasket will be connected to the propeller and the other part will be connected to the motor shaft. Disconnect it in both places.
Replace the Gasket.
Remove a mechanical seal from the shaft of the engine. Be careful with the oil in the engine and its parts. Do not touch your face.
Screw in the propeller.
Hold the motor shaft with a wrench. Screw in the propeller.
Reconnect the Pump.
Using a wrench and the bolts from Step 3, reinstall the pump and motor.
Reconnect the centrifugal pump. Put the reconnected system back into the plumbing. After reattaching the plumbing to the centrifugal pump, it is ready for use.
