From petrochemicals to food and beverages, these pumps are popular and versatile. Their unique design makes them ideal for transferring highly abrasive or viscous products. But how do air pumps work?
Air pumps are a type of positive displacement pump that uses compressed air as a power source. Compressed air is shifted from one chamber to another by a connected shaft that allows the chambers to move simultaneously.
The main element that makes air pumps unique is that they use compressed air from a separate air compressor instead of an electric motor.
How Do Diaphragm Pumps Work?
Air pumps use reciprocating elastomeric diaphragms and check valves to pump liquid. The liquid chambers are filled and emptied with liquid drawn from a common inlet and discharged through a single outlet.
The pump consists of four check valves/balls, two diaphragms, the rod assembly in the center of the pump and two air valves.
Two diaphragms move in and out of the fluid sections; one diaphragm will be at the suction when the other is at the discharge.
When in suction mode, the diaphragm creates a low pressure zone as it flows out of the liquid section, drawing the liquid into the pump.
The diaphragm then moves back into the liquid section forcing the product up to the ball/check valves and outlet, this is the discharge mode. The rod assembly moves the air pressure between the diaphragms to shift it from side to side
valves have balls that are moved up and down by the pressure generated by the diaphragms, which open and close the valves.
Depending on the strict passing requirements of the application, it is common to use ball or flap check valves. These valves operate by utilizing pressure differentials in the pumped liquid.
Air operated double diaphragm pumps have good suction head characteristics. They can handle sludges or slurries with a relatively high content of sand and solids.
Kampa Trade ;
GÜNALSAN, which we have been working together as the main dealer for many years, was established in 2002 in Istanbul. It has been manufacturing diaphragm transfer pumps since its establishment. It serves its customers under the HUGE PUMP brand.
As a product type, many types of air diaphragm pumps are produced with plastic body, aluminum body, cast iron body and stainless steel body suitable for the use of various chemicals.
By changing the diaphragm types within itself, it can be used in different types and different ratios of chemical substances and since they work with air, they can be used in the transfer of Exproof, that is, flammable and explosive substances.
Apart from these, they also produce electric plastic body pumps for the transfer of chemical substances and export different pump systems. They continue to work to incorporate new product groups. It is a company that prioritizes quality and reasonable price.
We are the regional dealer and service of our company that we have been working with for years and we send the products online at the most affordable price with free shipping to all over Turkey. We have all payment systems suitable for everyone who will satisfy you.
If your air pumps have any malfunction, you can send the product to the technical service and have it repaired and maintained.
