Where is it used?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is a plate heat exchanger?<\/strong> It was first produced in the 1920s and is widely used in heating and cooling systems in numerous industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rank-math-toc-block\" id=\"rank-math-toc\"><nav><ol><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#plakali-isi-esanjoru\">Plate Heat Exchanger<\/a><ol><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#plakali-isi-esanjoru-nerelerde-kullanilir\">Where to Use Plate Heat Exchangers<\/a><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#brazed-heat-exchangers\">Brazed Heat Exchangers;<\/a><ol><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#lehimli-plakali-isi-esanjoru-nerelerde-kullanilir\">Where is Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger Used?<\/a><\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/nav><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A plate heat exchanger consists of parallel plates placed one on top of another in a series of high quality channels for fluids to flow between them.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-905\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kampa.com.tr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/plakali-isi-esanjoru.jpg\" alt=\"What is a Heat Exchanger\" class=\"wp-image-905\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The figure shows the fluid flow inside the heat exchanger. The fluids are split into several parallel streams and can produce a perfect countercurrent.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The space between the two adjacent plates forms the channel through which the fluid flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inlet and outlet holes in the corners of the plates allow hot and cold fluids through alternating channels in the exchanger so that one plate is always in contact on one side with the hot fluid and the other with the cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our previous blog post, we explained general technical information about the plate heat exchanger, which is used in every field from industry to combi air conditioners. In this blog, we will talk about <strong>the plate heat exchanger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, these plates <em>are corrugated to<\/em> increase turbulence, thermal exchange surface and <em>provide mechanical stiffness to the exchanger<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The corrugation <em>is obtained by cold forging 0.3 mm to 1 mm thick sheets.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most commonly used materials for plates <em>are stainless steel, titanium and aluminum.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The groove in the plates forces the liquid on a curved path and creates a gap (<em>1 to 5 millimeters<\/em>) between two adjacent plates.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"758\" height=\"358\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kampa.com.tr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/12\/what-is-a-plate-heat-exchanger-2.jpg\" alt=\"What is a Plate Heat Exchanger Where is it used\" class=\"wp-image-52862\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.kampa.com.tr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/12\/what-is-a-plate-heat-exchanger-2.jpg 758w, https:\/\/blog.kampa.com.tr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/12\/what-is-a-plate-heat-exchanger-2-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 758px) 100vw, 758px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fluids can pass through the channels<em>in series (a less common solution), counter-current or<\/em> in parallel by making<em>current<\/em> configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<strong>series configuration<\/strong><em> is used when there is a small flow rate for each fluid, but high heat lapse;<\/em> the biggest problem is the high pressure drop and a perfect countercurrent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The parallel configuration with<\/em><strong>counter-current channels<\/strong> <em>is used for high flow rates with moderate temperature drops and is most commonly used.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When there is a large difference between the flow rates (or maximum allowable pressure drop) of the two fluids, the heat exchanger can operate with a twice lower flow (or higher losses) by the fluid, for pressure reduction or balancing of specific values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most common problems for plate heat exchangers is that all channels are unevenly fed in parallel. It is lighter, smaller and less bulky with gaskets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The image shows the path made by the hot and cold fluid.
